Intel has demonstrated a concept feature where a smartphone can be charged when brought in close proximity to a laptop.
The demonstration was done on an Acer Aspire laptop. A hardware component is added to the laptop, which is very slim and increases the bulk of the laptop only marginally.
When the phone is brought near the hardware component, an audible ping on the phone tells you that your phone is being charged.
Thus, we can look towards a more wire-free future where we won't have to carry around our phone charger so often.
